April 18, 2008 · 1 Comment

2 Tough and Crazy people get together and consider life through the Oracle of the Animated Gif. They contemplate THE day of Rain and fogs and rising Valley mists. Of Phone Calls from Daughters and curries for dinner. They consider the Grand Blessings of Home and Good Dwelling People. Of Music and Motels and Wineries and Good food. There are some excellent ways to spend birthdays. Late in bed in the Morning and Happily Partnered.

Some people are making such thorough plans
for rainy days that they aren’t enjoying today’s sunshine.
- William Feather

Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night. ~Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters of Rainer Maria Rilke

The itsy bitsy spider (or The eensy weensy spider)
climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain
and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun
and dried up all the rain.
And the itsy bitsy spider (or eensy weensy spider)
climbed up the spout again.

Madison Julius Cawein

Rain falls for centuries
Soaking the loose rocks in space
Sweet rain, the fire’s out
The black snag glistens in the rain
& the last wisp of smoke floats up

(Gary Snyder (b. 1930), U.S. poet. Burning
