AND ABOUT LIFE WITH A MUSICIAN

2 Tough and Crazy people get together and consider life through the Oracle of the Animated Gif. They contemplate life with and as a Musician. Little more needs saying for the moment although life with a Drug Dealer has many of the same elements with an edge.

When did solitude become
mere loneliness and the sounds
of birds at the feeder seem
not like a calibrated music
but the discordant dialects
of strangers simply flying through?
I have tried to construct a life
alone here — coffee at dawn; a jog
through the chilling air

counting my heartbeats,
as if the doctor were my only muse;
books and bread and firewood —
those usual stepping-stones from month
to freezing month. but the constricted light,
the year closing down on itself with all
the vacancies of January ahead, leave me
unreconciled even to beauty.
When will you be coming back?
– Linda Pastan, The Letter

Among all men on the earth bards have a share of honor and reverence, because the muse has taught them songs and loves the race of bards.
Homer

Musicians don’t retire; they stop when there’s no more music in them.

— Louis Armstrong

I’m a musician first, a food-lover second, a dirty mouth with feet, and a girl last time I checked.
– Tori Amos

Non omnes qui habemt citharam sunt citharoediNot all those who own a musical instrument are musicians. (Bacon)

“Feed the musician, and he’s out of tune”

George Crabbe (English Writer of poems and verse tales memorable for their realistic details of everyday life. 17541832)

  • Musicians have always educated people through music, you know even though now a days a lot of music just talks about sex, women, and drugs. Music I think should be teaching and talking to people about important things in life.
    Lucky Dube Quotes – Singers
  • “The commonest fallacy among women is that simply having children makes one a mother – which is as absurd as believing that having a piano makes one a musician.” – Sydney Harris
